IEP Improvement Project Update

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) appreciates the feedback you have provided so far on the Massachusetts IEP Improvement Project.

We are following up with a second survey specific to families, students with IEPs, and other interested parties. This survey is open now through our deadline of May 18th.

If you are a parent/guardian of a student with a disability, please complete the survey as soon as possible (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MAIEP3).

Updated information about the status of the Massachusetts IEP Improvement Project will continue to be posted on our website. (http://www.doe.mass.edu/sped/ImproveIEP/)

Input from family members and students with disabilities is essential in order to strengthen the direction of the state’s new IEP. Feedback from stakeholders in your community is critical in advancing the Massachusetts IEP Improvement Project, and impacting outcomes for students with disabilities. We sincerely appreciate your support and participation in this survey.

Thank you again for your time and feedback.

Sincerely,

Russell Johnston, PhD
Senior Associate Commissioner
State Director of Special Education
